Create tasks from "conversations": gone?

To phrase what I am looking for:

In a discussion I would like to type something like
[ ] Follow up to this meeting @user_name

This should do (instantly in a small UI component or on save):

  • Create the task in the same project
  • Assign it to the mentioned user
  • Link from the task description to the discussion entry
  • Replace the user input in the discussion with the link to the task

Currently I am doing this manually which is quite time consuming.

You can see a great example for such functionality over at confluence: Confluence: How Do I Create a Task? | Evaluator Resources | Atlassian Documentation

I am surprised this conversation died and never got addressed properly. I was using Slack before I started using Asana recently. I was creating Asana tasks from conversations within Slack using integrations. I wanted to try and only use one program so moved to Asana conversations and was very surprised that tasks could not be created from within Asana conversations in the same way. This seems fundamental to me. The quick add button is not a substitute for this. You should be able to highlight text within a conversation or select an entire post and link it to a new task in your corresponding board. Please reconsider Asana.
