When I use Version One and JIRA, I am able to section off my columns. This is especially helpful in backlog planning, which I typically will use in a column to the left-most called ‘backlog’ and ‘assigned’. I use sections within my columns to prioritize or organize my work. Say I am working a project to create an application called “app-coolness”, I may be managing feature requests in the current version 2.x, planning for the next major release 3.0, and managing tech debt (little to-do list items that need to be done someday or minor bug fixes). My team works out of the board. Having columns with sections makes the board easier to visualized than if I had 3+ separate columns just for my backlog and assigned process stages or statuses.
