I could not keep track of my work without Asana. It is something I rely on daily. With that said, there are times when I really need to get tasks done that are time-sensitive and some sort of reminders feature for really important tasks would be great.

In the meantime you can sync time sensitive tasks only to google calendar and use the desktop notifications from there.
I recommend Projectbuddy extension.
