My organisation uses tasks that are automatically generated from incoming emails.
Currently, there’s no easy way to search for a particular email address from within a task description without knowing specifically what format the email address is in, within the task.
For example, if you were to search for “mailto:example@hotmail.com”, it would yield results, but if you just search “example@hotmail.com”, it yields no results.
We get emails from sources that format the “from” address in various ways, so there’s no easy way for us to sort through historical items, in order to check if an enquiry is a duplicate from the same person, without guessing the format of the address.
This would be resolved if searches for partial terms was allowed, and I’m sure that this would also affect searches in other use-case scenarios where partial terms are needed to more effectively search.
